The evening Festival Ho‘olaule'a featured master steel guitarists from Kaua‘i, O'ahu, and Maui, and a proclamation from Kaua‘i Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho, Jr., proclaiming Friday and Saturday, February 3 and 4, 2017, as Kaua‘i Steel Guitar Appreciation Days. Kaua‘i's Billy DeCosta was the program emcee.
